The professional assessment tells you everything else: what nobody uses, what your subscriptions will really cost to rebuild, what each migration path costs for your specific estate, and which one fits. If the right answer is Power BI or staying on SSRS until 2033, that is what the report will say.

Send your .rdl files under NDA. Receive a written report plus a spreadsheet appendix covering:
- Full inventory with complexity tiers scored against the same published rubric as the free scan
- Dependency map: shared data sources, shared datasets, subreports, and broken references
- Duplicate name detection, which silently defeats every bulk migration tool
- Blocker register with counts: custom assemblies, dynamic SQL, linked servers, cross-database queries, multi-value parameters
- A readiness verdict for each candidate target
- The twenty reports that will cost the most, named individually with reasons
No meetings required. No access to any system. Files only.
Full Assessment
$8,000 to $15,000 by estate size. Two to three weeks.
Everything in the Estate Report, plus the parts that live in your report server catalog rather than your files. You run a read-only extraction script we supply and review its output before sending. It returns metadata only: no report data, no query results, no execution parameter values, and all user names pseudonymized.
- Usage classification from execution history, with the honest caveat: log retention defaults to 60 days, so annual and statutory reports are flagged for business review, never auto-classified as dead
- Retirement list. Most estates carry 20 to 40 percent of reports nobody runs, and retiring them before migration is the cheapest work in the entire project
- Subscription inventory separating standard from data-driven, with a rebuild estimate per subscription. Subscriptions transfer to no target, and they are the most common cause of migration overrun
- Security model summary mapped to your target's permission model
- An effort and cost model per target, with stated confidence ranges
- Annual carrying cost of the current estate: licensing, support hours, and the unused share
- A written recommendation with the reasoning shown, and a readout call

The targets we compare
Every assessment evaluates your estate against all of these, on equal footing:
Stay on SSRS. Supported with security patches through January 11, 2033. Sometimes the right answer, and we will say so.
Power BI Report Server. Same engine, same RDL, included with SQL Server Enterprise plus SA or Power BI Premium. The lowest-friction move for many estates.
Power BI Service. Paginated reports in Fabric. The cloud path, with capacity licensing that deserves its own line in your comparison.
ReportBridge. Our conversion pipeline to PostgreSQL, viewed standalone or inside Domo. We will tell you honestly whether your estate fits it, including when it does not.
Third-party RDL platforms such as Bold Reports and Telerik Reporting, which matter most when custom assemblies or embedded viewers rule out the cloud path.
What this assessment cannot tell you
We would rather you know the limits before you pay.
Whether a report matters to the business. Execution counts measure activity, not value. That is why the retirement list is a proposal for your review, never a delete script.
What dynamic SQL does. Queries assembled at runtime cannot be read statically. Each instance is counted and priced for human analysis.
How any target renders your largest report. File analysis predicts what breaks on load, not how it performs. We offer a render benchmark of your heaviest report as an add-on.
What calls your reports programmatically. Applications rendering through the SSRS API are the usual reason an organization migrates and still cannot switch the old server off. The full assessment flags API-driven execution from the request-type data in your logs.
